One of a kind pop duo NAATIONS are an act that have caught our attention lately.. Comprising of singer/songwriter Nat Dunn and DJ Nicky Night Time.

Both bringing in some accolades, Nat has cowrote some of the freshest pop hits such as Marshmello & Anne-Marie’s hit track ‘FRIENDS’ + Charli XCX’s single, ‘5 In The Morning’. Nicky has been involved in producing and writing for the likes of Purple Disco Machine and Kaz James as well as putting out his own music as part of Sydney band, Van She.

They’ve recently put out their late 2018 debut EP ‘Teardrop’, which features summer smash ‘Real Life’ with Gorgon City and Duke Dumont that’s surpassed 43 million Spotify streams to date. The guys also finished up touring with Anne Marie in Anne Marie on a small run of shows around Melbourne and Sydney before the year went out.

We decided it was high time to sit down with NAATIONS to ask the guys some questions & get an insight into one of their favourite hangouts, LA.

What are some of your favourite secret spots?

Nat: I just went to the new art exhibition ‘Soul Of A Nation’ at The Broad museum in downtown Los Angeles (where we’ve both lived for the past 2 years.) It’s a wonderful museum and the new exhibition is incredibly powerful. Love to eat and drink downtown as there are so many great spots here…

Nicky: The Wolves downtown is my favourite bar DTLA and my friend’s cafe Gorgi Porgi is our local coffee spot … They also own the warehouse where we filmed the “Alive” video next door and sometimes we put on after-hour raves !! Fun!

Favourite spots (restaurants/bars) to chill-out?

Nat: Pace in Laurel Canyon, and Jones on Santa Monica Boulevard, are my favourite eats in LA.

Nicky: Our friends own Elephante in Santa Monica which has one of the best pizzas in the world! And Nowhere … Alex does the best cocktails and they have a dope collection of vinyl..
Also the Gold Line is good if you wanna have some rare grooves owned by Stones Throw in Highland Park.

Elephante

Favourite spots for a night out?

Nat: The pikey is my pub/ Sunday Roast (proper English…Yorkshire pudding and all).

Nicky: My friends at Rhonda INTL definitely have the best parties at Los Globos … Or a quick bevvie at King Eddies before dinner at Pizzanista!

What do you love about LA?

Nat: Downtown, in particular, has a very different vibe to say…West Hollywood or anywhere further west. It’s less gold shoes and day glow and a little more street cool.

Nicky: I’d have to agree because i love there haha

Can you list some of your favourite music to get through a hangover?

Nat: I’ve been listening to Cigarettes After sex and Gesaffelstein. Nicky over to you!

Nicky: The new Tame Impala record is amazing and also Robyn and Kindess are on high rotation.
