If you’re the same as us at Beats Travel HQ, then you’ll have spent the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019 with half of your Instagram feed filled with all things SOUND TULUM.

The Mexican fiesta had the setting of paradise and the biggest names in dance music providing the soundtrack to the many revellers dressed head-to-toe in their hippy/burner styled outfits. As we couldn’t make it to this edition, we managed to recruit our very own inside man, David Berrie to take us through his experiences of playing at the Paradise event & exploring Tulum.

New Jersey born and NYC raised David Berrie began his career in the DJ world at the young age of 18. While he spent his teenage years sneaking into clubs and parties(didn’t we all!) to work on his DJ skills.

With notable performances DJ-ing at key fashion events including GQ, Nylon, Victoria’s Secret, Diesel Music and Patron Tequila, David Berrie has quickly risen through the ranks with performances at iconic rooms including Output NY, DC-10 Ibiza and the historic BPM Festival in Portugal.

David is gearing up to release new music this spring along with the announcement of his massive 2019 Paradise Ibiza Residency this summer – STAY TUNED!

PARADISE EVENT: I kicked off the music at Paradise and the vibe was strong right from the jump.
LOST IN THE JUNGLE
JUNGLE MAGIC: The venue was literally in the middle of the jungle, and it was such a maze to walk through – but I loved getting lost.
OFF THE BEATEN TRACK: Next day I hit the streets on a bike, moving through the main beach path, you could feel how overcrowded this year in Tulum has become.
CHILL TIME: Here I finally found a nice quiet spot to decompress by the water. One of the most amazing things in Tulum for me was being on the beach at night. You look up and the stars and galaxies never looked so up close and vivid, it was truly a sight to see.
COCO MISSION: Next day I was on a mission for fresh coconuts.
LEAVE IT TO THE PRO’s: I was unsuccessful at scaling the palm tree & ended up just settling on a local coconut water spot in town. You can get a huge bottle for $2 USD!
JUICY:Also found a nice fresh green juice in town at this spot ‘Natural Juice’ – The KEY to keeping my body feel clean after partying with the Paradise crew.
DAY TRIPPIN:On the way to check out the infamous cenotes, I found some cool street art in town.
FACT: This is only one of over 6000 beautiful cenotes I visited in this Yucatan area. I learned that these cenotes were a sacred place for the Mayans and considered to be gateways to the afterlife.

Make sure you keep up to date with what’s going on with David below!
